Foster

Enjoy the short-term company of a furry companion

If you are not ready to on take the commitment of adopting a dog or cat but are missing the companionship of a furry friend, why not consider fostering an animal for a period of time? Fostering is a great way to experience the joy and friendship of an animal but not have to make a long-term commitment. It benefits the rescue because it gives ORA the opportunity to rescue more animals. The more animals that can be placed in a safe, secure and loving environment, the more animals that can be saved from a sad and insecure future.

Fostering is taking responsibility for one of our animals on a temporary basis. The length of time is determined by ORA and also how long you are able to make such a commitment. ORA also looks at the stability, type of home, the number of people in the dwelling and prior experience with animals to determine if you will be a good foster parent. ORA provides medical care for fostered animals but it’s up to the foster parent to provide food and shelter.

Any animal that is available for foster care can also be sponsored
