Senior Pet Home Sanctuary
Ensuring our pets are comfortable in their forever
home sanctuary
At ORA cats or dogs that do not find forever loving homes, because of age, temperament, or health issues remain in our care for the rest of their natural lives. As a result of our strict no kill policy many of the older animals enjoy a safe haven in a sanctuary like setting. Enrichment activities such as dog walking, dog play time, cat play time, cuddles and brushing are available for our permanent residents and are performed by volunteers.
Unfortunately, just as their human counterpart, a geriatric pet can develop many age-related health problems and as a result require more attention, including increased visits to the veterinarian, additional medication and supplements and possibly a change in diet. At ORA, the age of the animal is not a fast track to a death sentence, but just another stage in the animal’s life. Caring for geriatric animals is time consuming and costly. Nevertheless, our no kill policy allows the cat or dog to continue to live a comfortable, save and happy existence.
If you believe the lives of healthy older animals should not be terminated because of their age then please donate to help us care for these precious lives.
ORA Sanctuary Program
Individuals, who can no longer care for their aging animal or have no one to care for their pet in case of its death, can take advantage of ORA’s sanctuary program. This is a guaranteed alternative option that offers peace of mind knowing that your animal will be safe and looked after.
We encourage pet owners to make the necessary arrangements for their pets in the event that they can no longer care for their animal. When you feel you have no option, ORA’s sanctuary program offers a real and safe alternative.
