Support An Animal - Sponsor/Foster

At ORA, we have dogs and cats available for foster care and sponsorship. Making the choice to sponsor or care for any of these animals requires commitment and dedication.

Some of our animals are older and may not be able to adapt well to a new environment so sponsoring them might be the better option.
A regular monthly donation to a specific animal will help take care of its needs and allow it to continue to enjoy a good quality of life while at the ORA sanctuary.

Other animals would fare well in foster care and adapt nicely to a new home environment should you want to have a companion on a short-term basis or if you are trying to decide whether long-term pet ownership is for you.

Animals currently available for foster care and sponsorship

Pearl

Pearl is approximately 12 years old. She was rescued with her sister & brother from the streets by one of ORA’s volunteers. Her siblings both got wonderful homes, however Pearl was always a fearful cat that preferred to run and hide when she saw people or heard a noise. She has become calmer, but still is skittish and fearful of strangers. Nevertheless, she has an endearing personality and her small stature makes her so very adorable.

Tommy

Tommy is a very sweet cat that loves affection. He is approximately 8 years old.Tommy was rescued from a hoarding situation. Underweight and skittish it took some time before he would trust anyone to get close to him. He developed a hematoma in both ears and needed surgery to drain the ears. He is doing well and has no other medical issues to date. Please support Tommy.

Tilley

Tilley has been with ORA for the past 5 years. He is approximately 15 years old. He was rescued from the streets. We believe he was abandoned by his previous owner, because when we found him he was a very friendly cat. Although every attempt was made to find his owner, Tilley became a permanent resident of ORA’s sanctuary. Tilley has a thyroid condition and is on medication twice daily.

Betsy

Betsy is one of our seniors at ORA. She is a Husky mix and at 16 years old she is still managing quite well. She came to ORA as an owner surrendered her. With no prospective adopters interested in taking her home, she remained with ORA most of her life. She is available for sponsorship.

Missy

Missy is approximately 16 years old. For a senior she is doing quite well. Missy enjoys her walks and still gets excited when she hears the word cookie. Although her eye sight is failing and she is not as fast as the other dogs, she is still a puppy at heart. If you would like to help Missy’s upkeep, she may be sponsored.

Louie

Louie is a 14 year old Tibetan Spaniel. He suffers from Degenerative Eye Disorder and is now completely blind. He is managing quite well with his blindness and manages to get around by apparently counting his steps and following familiar routes. He is an intelligent dog with plenty of energy to spare and is always ready and willing to accompany the volunteers for his daily walk.
