Volunteer

A great way to help and form vital connections with others

Volunteers are the life blood of ORA. We are all volunteers and we have no paid staff. Our only incentive as we help stray, abused and abandoned animals is experiencing the joy that comes when a loving and permanent home is found for them.

ORA offers many volunteer opportunities. Whether you are just looking to spend some quality time combing and cuddling the cats, may want to incorporate an exercise routine walking dogs or helping with our IT section, there is never a shortage of tasks that need to be done.

Some other volunteer opportunities include:

  • Prepare flyers
  • Distribute flyers
  • Maintain mailing lists
  • Organize fundraising events
  • Organize fundraising groups
  • Do computer work
  • Take care of cats
  • And for a variety of other duties…

STUDENT ACCOMPLISHMENT PROGRAM

Students that are interested in working with animals and want to participate in our “Student Accomplishment Program” to acquire their community hours must commit to completing 40 hours with ORA. Students must fill out our volunteer application form specifying which area of interest they are applying for. Students are required to bring their volunteer forms with them each time they volunteer, so that their hours can be recorded on that day.

Upon completion of their hours, they will receive a letter of recognition from ORA for their contribution in helping the organization’s animals. Students who wish to continue volunteering for ORA after the completion of their 40 hours are most welcome to do so.

We are actively seeking student volunteers who wish to help with our fundraising efforts. There are many ways to fundraise for the animals and our volunteer coordinator will be happy to share more information with you.
